Mexican Flag

The Mexican flag is a flag red-white-green with the coat of arms of Mexico in the middle. Red symbolizes the blood shed during the struggle for independence. The white symbolizes purity. The green symbolizes the fertility of the land.

Now the emblem is interesting because it is an eagle on a prickly cactus eating a rattlesnake there.

This image is thick with symbolism. The eagle was a representation of the sun god Huitzilopochtli, the god of war, which seemed the Aztec leader. The Sun and the Sun God are very important to the Aztecs as they call it the "People of the Sun". The eagle on the Mexican flag is a golden eagle, the official bird of Mexico.
